Member Assistance Program (MAP) – 24/7 confidential counselling
SLSNSW members can access free counselling through Converge International for concerns arising from your lifesaving involvement

National Emergency Workers Support Service (NEWSS)
Provided by the Black Dog Institute, NEWSS offers online mental health checks, resources for families and friends, and up to 12 free sessions with a clinician for emergency services volunteers and staff.

Peer Support and self-care
Our Peer Support Officers and the SLSNSW Wellbeing Team provide post-incident well checks, Psychological First Aid, and practical resources. If you’ve been identified for follow-up, you may receive a call; you can also reach out proactively.
